Martin County Jail Roster

The official Martin County custody route is the Martin County Jail Roster Report, a PDF report linked from county and Sheriff pages. It is not a form-based database. It works more like a current custody sheet: open the PDF, check the timestamp, then search within the document by last name, first name, arresting agency, or charge text. Because it is a report, the roster may change after a booking, release, court appearance, bond update, or status change.

The roster is housed in the Sheriff and jail system, while criminal court cases are handled in Martin County District Court. A listed inmate may have a related court file, but the jail roster does not replace the full case file. For charges, pleas, warrants, or sentencing events, use the court case number in MCRO or contact Court Administration. For jail custody questions, call the Martin County Jail.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office page identifies the Law Enforcement Center as the home of the Sheriff's Office, administrative section, Martin County Jail, and Communications Center. That setting matters for visitors because jail, Sheriff, warrant, dispatch, and court-security functions share the 201 Lake Avenue campus in Fairmont.

Use Martin County Inmate Records

Start with the roster when the need is current custody status. Open the jail roster PDF and note the current-as-of timestamp before relying on an entry. A person booked after the latest update, released shortly after court, or moved to another custody setting may not match what a user expects from an old browser tab or saved PDF.

2. Use the browser or PDF find tool to search a last name, first name, arresting agency, or charge phrase.
3. Read each row for booking date, charge text, status, projected release date, and bond amount.
4. Call the jail if the roster is unclear, if the person is not listed, or if the release status may have changed.
5. Use MCRO or Court Administration for the court case file, because the roster is not the certified court record.

Martin County Roster Fields

The Martin County jail roster does not ask for a user name, password, or search form entry. Its useful fields are PDF and report fields. That makes the timestamp and phone fallback important, especially when a case involves a new arrest, a court appearance, a bond change, or a release that may not yet be reflected in the public report.

Martin County Inmate Profile Fields

The roster field inventory is useful because it shows what is present and what is missing. It lists custody and charge basics, but it does not show a mugshot, full physical descriptors, housing unit, judge, public medical status, or protective-custody notes. Treat it as a custody report, not as a full booking packet.

Martin County Jail Contact

Martin County Jail is part of the Law Enforcement Center complex at the same 201 Lake Avenue campus used by the Sheriff, Court Administration, and nearby court functions. The jail is the proper contact for roster clarification, visitation questions, fingerprint appointments, and custody-related procedures. Sheriff Records is a different route for public agency records that are not shown on the roster.

The Sheriff page describes the office as the county's chief law enforcement authority and lists duties that connect directly to jail records: warrant service, courtroom and adjacent-area security, prisoner transport, dispatch, investigations, civil process, and jail administration. Those functions explain why an inmate lookup may point to more than one office. Current custody belongs with the jail, case events belong with District Court, and report releases belong with Sheriff Records when release is authorized.

Martin County Inmate Visitation

Martin County Jail uses video visitation. Rules are posted outside the visitation room, and the official jail page sets narrow visit windows. Visitors must be at least 18 unless an underage child of the inmate is allowed with a legal guardian or other adult approved by the Jail Administrator. Visitors over 18 must show valid government photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID card, military ID, or passport.

Each visitor is limited to one visit per day, and visits are limited to 20 minutes. Work IDs, school IDs, and check-cashing IDs are not accepted. People incarcerated in the last 30 days and victims of the offender are not allowed to visit. Violating posted rules can end visitation privileges.

Martin County Jail Funds and Mail

Money can be placed on an inmate account through the lockdown kiosk in the Video Visitation area of the Martin County Security Building or through JailATM web deposits. The kiosk accepts cash or credit card. The official jail page lists a cash deposit fee of $3.25 and a credit card fee of $3.25 or 10 percent. Correctional Deputies do not accept direct public payments unless the kiosk is not working, and personal checks are not accepted.

Correctional Deputies do not take messages for inmates. The inmate message system is 507-320-1163, but messages are not confidential. Inmates may buy phone cards from jail kiosks in their cells. Family and friends can buy phone cards through JailATM or Reliance Telephone, and the phone system accepts only those cards. JailATM is also used for canteen and commissary items.

Martin County Inmates Beyond Jail

Not every custody search ends at the county jail. A person sentenced to state prison, moved from local custody, or held under a corrections status may need the Minnesota Department of Corrections route. The state corrections route is separate from the Martin County jail roster and is most useful after a person leaves county jail for a state custody setting.

Federal custody is separate again. The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator applies to sentenced federal inmates and does not replace Martin County jail or District Court records.

Martin County Sheriff Records

The Sheriff Records Department handles report releases, agency records, handgun permits, predatory offender registration, burn permits, and court-mandated support functions. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. A person requesting reports must present photo identification. Investigative cases cannot be released while still under investigation, and records may require a fee when authorized by law.

Use Sheriff Records or the county public records request portal for county-held agency records not shown on the jail roster. Do not use that route for certified court documents or sealed court files. Certified court records come from Martin County Court Administration, and case lookups for charges after booking are handled through MCRO or Court Administration.

Fingerprinting is another jail-administered service noted in the official research. All fingerprinting services are by appointment only through the jail at 507-238-3150. Civil applicant fingerprints require picture ID, any required paperwork or instructions for the Correctional Deputy, and fingerprint cards. The listed civil applicant fingerprint fee is $10 per card, cash and exact change only. Criminal-print reporting requires photo ID and the criminal complaint.

Custody status also can change after court. A person may be booked with bond set, sentenced, released, transferred, or shown with a projected release date that later changes. The roster timestamp should be checked each time, and urgent custody or release questions should go to the jail rather than a saved roster copy.

For victims and witnesses, local materials also point to VINE and Victim/Witness services for custody notice and hearing support. Those tools supplement the roster when notice matters, but they do not replace the jail for current custody questions or Court Administration for court records.
